Miami Dolphins have tough schedule to close out 2020 season
The Miami Dolphins are currently a playoff team but it’s going to be tough to hold on.
If the season ended today, the Miami Dolphins would be the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoffs and would travel to Buffalo in the Wild Card Round. The Dolphins are one of the biggest surprises this year after going just 5-11 last year and currently sit at 8-4 for the 2020 NFL season in Brian Flores’ second year at the helm.
It’s been a nice year for the Dolphins and while they look to be in good shape moving forward, holding onto that playoff spot is going to be a wild ride in the final four games. Miami has a brutal schedule to close out their 2020 campaign and very well could lose out considering they’ll be underdogs in all but one of these games.
Here are the final four games for the Miami Dolphins:
- Week 14 – vs Chiefs (11-1)
- Week 15 – vs Patriots (6-6)
- Week 16 – at Raiders (7-5) – Sunday Night Football
- Week 17 – at Bills (8-4)
That is not an easy slate for anyone, but for a young team like the Dolphins, it’s going to be an even tougher challenge. The Chiefs have only lost to one team this year and they’ll be nostalgic heading back to Miami — the site where they won Super Bowl LIV. Expect them to come out swinging against the underdog Dolphins.
Can the Miami Dolphins overcome a tough schedule and make the playoffs?
Out of all of these games, Miami should be favored against the Patriots in Week 15, but New England is picking up steam. They’re in the playoff hunt at 6-6 and they’ve been pushed around by the Dolphins in key games in seasons past. This could be a nice payback for them for costing them the No. 2 seed last season.
Playing on the road in Las Vegas and Buffalo to close out the season is going to be really tough for this young Fins team. The Raiders game will be televised on Sunday Night Football, so that’s a chance for the Dolphins to show the entire country what they’re made of. The Raiders are very hit and miss, but they’re also fighting like heck for a playoff spot so they’ll come ready to play.
Miami gave the Bills all they could handle back in Week 2 losing only by a field goal, so they know they can go toe-to-toe with Buffalo. Also, this could be a playoff preview, so the Dolphins will definitely treat it as such. Ryan Fitzpatrick was the starter in that Week 2 game, but the Dolphins haven’t skipped much of a beat with rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa under center.
We’ll get a chance to see what the Miami Dolphins are made of in these final four games. If they can hold onto a playoff spot, they’ll most definitely have earned it.
