The New Orleans Saints unsurprisingly landed third among NFL teams in the FanSided 250

It’s that time of the year we’ve all been waiting for. The FanSided 250 list has been months in the making and now we’ve seen all of our favorite fandoms ranked. And the New Orleans Saints managed to snag a solid ranking on the list.

Coming in at third place in the NFL category, the Saints are one of the most universally beloved NFL teams. Whether it’s because of their players, their attitude or how heartbreaking the end to their 2019 season was, the franchise and its fans have dominated 2020 just the same.

Two other NFL teams ranked ahead of them, the Saints have become a team that almost anyone will root for as long as you’re not an NFC South competitor.

Before getting into the reasons why they deserve their spot, the Saints were honestly a lot higher than most people might have guessed. No doubt, Who Dat Nation knew that the team was going to end up at a higher spot on the list. Either way, the New Orleans Saints are more than deserving of their spot on the FanSided 250 even if they were beaten out by two other teams.

The Saints’ roster, history and the ingrained passion of the fans landed them at No. 3.

The Saints star-studded roster undoubtedly had something to do with the buzz the fans have generated. Even with the Saints being without Drew Brees again this year, there are still plenty of players to root for with the likes of Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas and even Taysom Hill, among others.

Aside from the roster, the Saints are a bit of an underdog after two back-to-back seasons that ended tragically. The team managed to fall twice in the playoffs and didn’t get to ascend to the Super Bowl. That makes them easy to root for.

Even if you’re not a Saints fan, a lot of people like to root for Brees and want to see him succeed as he’s made a huge impact on and off the field. Brees has dealt with a lot this year, including injuries and public backlash. However, he’s managed to pick himself back up and get better every time. It’s not easy but Brees does things with such grace that it’s something to behold.

Lastly and most importantly, though, the New Orleans Saints simply have some of the best fans in the world. No matter what, Who Dat Nation is always willing to show up and show out for the team. Fans are just one part of the equation but they can help make the team better in a lot of ways.
