Fantasy football start and sit advice for Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season.

Welcome back to another week of fantasy football start and sit advice. After quite possibly the craziest season in NFL history, we have finally made it to the fantasy football playoffs. However, things can seemingly change at any moment, with last-second COVID list adds always a possibility.

The performance was strong across the board by the players highlighted in last weeks’ article, with Ryan Tannehill finishing as the QB4 and Robert Tonyan finishing as the TE7. The recommended sits also came through, with Todd Gurley and D.J. Chark both finishing outside the top 50 at their respective positions and Evan Engram finishing as the TE24.

Without further ado, here are players that can aid you with strong performances on your playoff run and others who could end it prematurely. As always keep an eye on injury reports and news up until kickoff and best of luck on your playoff run!

Fantasy Football Starts Week 14

QB Kirk Cousins, Minnesota (vs. Tampa Bay)

Cousins has been about as consistent as they come since his poor start to the season. He has thrown for three passing touchdowns three straight weeks and has thrown multiple touchdown passes in seven of his last eight.

Now he gets a Week 14 matchup against Tampa Bay, who has become an extremely favorable matchup as of late, giving up four straight QB1 performances. Ride the hot hand and fire up Kirk Cousins as a QB1 in Week 14.

Projection: 311 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, 23.4 fantasy points.

RB Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis (vs. Las Vegas)

Taylor had a massive Week 13, turning 16 total touches into 135 yards and a touchdown. Before missing a game due to COVID, he had 26 touches in Week 11 against Green Bay.

His stretch of fantastic schedule continues, as he draws a matchup with a Las Vegas defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Even though Taylor has been a rough fantasy player to own this season, he may turn in some RB1 weeks for owners on the home stretch.

Projection: 103 total yards, 3 receptions, 1 touchdown, 17.8 fantasy points.

WR Corey Davis, Tennessee (vs. Jacksonville)

Davis had a monster Week 13 performance, turning 12 targets into 11 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown. Though he was helped immensely by game script, Davis has been a reliable fantasy asset as of late with at least 67 receiving yards the past four weeks.

In Week 14, he draws a dream matchup against Jacksonville. Even though Derrick Henry could likely handle the Jaguars by himself, Davis is leading a high powered Titans offense in receiving yards and targets and needs to be started everywhere.

Projection: 7 receptions, 101 yards, 1 touchdown, 19.6 fantasy points.

TE Noah Fant, Denver (vs. Carolina)

Fant has been unusable in fantasy since returning from his injury in Week 7. However, he continues to be the team’s top target nearly every week. In Week 14 he draws a matchup with Carolina that should allow the Denver offense to get cooking for the first time in weeks. With the current tight end landscape, Fant is a step up from the crop of waiver wire tight ends.

Projection: 5 receptions, 71 yards, 1 touchdown, 15.6 fantasy points.

Fantasy Football Sits Week 14

QB Cam Newton, New England (vs. LA Rams)

In Week 13 Cam Newton finished as the QB9 despite only throwing for 69 yards. Even though his rushing volume has made up for his lack of production in the passing game most weeks, it has also led to some huge duds as recently as Week 12, where he posted 84 passing yards and two interceptions with no touchdowns.

On Thursday, Newton has a matchup against Los Angeles who is allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. With his lack of receiving core and the Patriots’ run-heavy offense, Newton can be safely left on the bench in Week 14.

Projection: 188 passing yards, 2 interceptions, 44 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 15.9 fantasy points.

RB David Johnson, Houston (vs. Chicago)

Johnson had a disappointing return from injury, only totaling 44 yards with no receptions. Many hoped some of the targets vacated by Will Fuller’s departure would go toward Johnson, though one week in it appears that is not the case.

Now he draws a Week 14 matchup against a Chicago defense that has been faltering as of late but still has the potential to completely shut down the run game. Johnson should be viewed as a low upside FLEX play this week and should be on the bench if possible.

Projection: 56 total yards, 3 receptions, 7.1 fantasy points.

WR Jarvis Landry, Cleveland (vs. Baltimore)

After a terrible start to the season, Landry has exploded these past two weeks with 16 total receptions for 205 yards and two touchdowns. This hot streak is likely to come to an end against a strong Baltimore defense.

With Baker Mayfield’s passing volume likely to be limited and Cleveland’s scoring opportunities likely to be limited, Landry will likely turn in a performance similar to the earlier part of his season.

Projection: 5 receptions, 55 yards, 8.0 fantasy points.

TE Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia (vs. New Orleans)

Goedert has been one of the only fantasy performers on the Philadelphia offense all year, but that looks poised to change in Week 14 against an elite New Orleans defense. It does not help that Wentz, who profusely targeted Goedert, has been benched in favor of rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.

What that means for the Eagles offense remains to be seen, but I would prefer to avoid finding out with my fantasy playoffs at stake, especially against the New Orleans defense.

Projection: 3 receptions, 40 yards, 5.5 fantasy points.
