Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns: 5 Bold predictions for Monday Night Football in Week 14
Bold predictions for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football in Week 14.
When the Cleveland Browns visited the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 of the 2020 season, it looked as if we were in store for the same song we heard last year from both teams. Baker Mayfield and the Browns were boat-raced by Lamar Jackson as it looked like the Ravens were Super Bowl-bound and Cleveland was destined to stay in their perennial quagmire.
Things have shifted drastically since then. Baltimore has gone 6-5 since that season-opener while Cleveland has gone 9-2, including winning four straight and five of their last six. Now the Browns could put a serious damper on the Ravens’ playoff chances as they meet in primetime to cap off Week 14 on Monday Night Football.
Will the Cleveland Browns exact revenge for the early-season beatdown or will the Baltimore Ravens bring them back to earth? We’ve got five bold predictions for this big AFC North showdown on Monday Night Football to try and provide an answer to that.
5. Chubb rolls for 125 yards and another touchdown
This side of Derrick Henry, no running back in the NFL has been as impressive as Nick Chubb as of late. The former Georgia Bulldog is averaging an incredible 6.0 yards per carry on the year and has 799 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, despite missing four games due to injury.
In the opener against the Ravens, Chubb was actually effective when given the opportunity. He rushed for 60 yards on 10 carries and was able to get chunks of yards relatively consistently. Having said that, his touches were limited simply because Cleveland fell behind big early in the game.
For my money, that’s not going to happen in Week 14 on Monday Night Football. The Browns have found their mojo offensively while the Ravens have seemingly lost theirs. That means they’ll be in the game long enough to establish the run with Chubb and the running back is more than capable of taking advantage of that.
Baltimore sneakily has not been a good run defense over the past month and now they face one of the best rushing offenses and running backs in the league. That spells a big game for Chubb, who will cross 125 yards for his third time in five games while scoring his fourth touchdown in the last five weeks.
