NFL Power Rankings, Week 15: Packers take top seed, Eagles sparked by Jalen Hurts

Throw the records out. That’s the old cliche when division rivals face off and that held true on Sunday. There was really no reason to think the Detroit Lions could hang with the Green Bay Packers, but they did. With Green Bay looking for one win to seal the NFC North, Detroit came out ready for a fight.
The Lions scored first as tight end T.J. Hockenson hauled in a one-yard pass from Matt Stafford, which capped off an 11-play, 75-yard opening drive. The Packers answered with a 56-yard touchdown from Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams and a 14-yarder to Marquez Valdes-Scantling but again, Detroit made them earn it.
Rookie running back D’Andre Swift scored from three yards out to tire it up at the half, but then the Packers pulled ahead with two more scores. Detroit continued to fight and even made it a seven-point game when Matt Prater hit a late field goal but they were unable to get the ball back as the Packers killed the clock.
While they did lose and fall to 5-8, it was hard to be too upset with the Lions, who even had to turn to Chase Daniel late after a rib injury was suffered by Stafford. It doesn’t make up for the rest of the season, but they did show they can compete in this one.
