24. team. 45. . . Previous: 25th. Denver Broncos

It was a career-day for Drew Lock of the Denver Broncos who went off against the Carolina Panthers. Lock was surgical with 21-of-27 passes finding their intended target for 280 yards with four touchdowns and no picks. He spread the ball to everyone and hit rookie K.J. Hamler for two passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Denver had it going on special teams as well, with Diontae Spencer kicking the scoring off with an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Add up their play and it was a 25-10 lead for Denver heading into the fourth — but not everything was perfect.

Kicker Brandon McManus missed two extra points, including the one following Spencer’s touchdown. He was one of many kickers to struggle around the NFL today and that could have come into play as the Panthers made it a game with an onslaught in the fourth.

Carolina scored two touchdowns and a field goal in the final period and with 3:26 to play, they pulled within five. Thankfully for the Broncos, their defense held as they forced a turnover on downs with under two minutes to go to secure the win. Now at 5-8. they’re playing for pride and trying to build some momentum heading into the offseason.
