No. 3 NFL team with a new QB in 2021: Chicago Bears

The Bears might have taken down Deshaun Watson and the Texans in Week 14, but there’s no doubt that Chicago wishes Watson was their quarterback instead of Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears declined Trubisky’s fifth-year option, so he won’t be back in 2021.

Nick Foles will still be in Chicago (unless he’s traded again), but it’s doubtful the Bears stand pat with Foles considering how inconsistent he was this season. He’s a nice backup plan to have for sure, but Chicago needs a new quarterback and that’s priority No. 1 this offseason.

The Bears will likely be drafting in the middle of the first round, so they could have a shot at someone like Zach Wilson or Trey Lance. Will they go that route or will they look to free agency to find their next signal-caller?

With Foles still under contract for at least a year, drafting a quarterback is probably the better route for the Bears. Maybe they trade up to ensure they get the guy they want, but with that not panning out so well for them in 2017, they might just see who falls to them on the board and let fate decide.

They’re not in the best situation when it comes to finding a quarterback, but the Bears will most definitely be searching for a new one come 2021.
