Week 15 NFL DraftKings Values: Defense/Special Teams
Premium Tier ($4,000 and up): The Los Angeles Rams (LAR vs. NYJ, $4,500) carry a Bugati price tag, but they’re playing Team Yugo: the New York Jets. If the budget allows, no Defense/Special Teams unit on the main slate stands a greater chance of racking up 20 or more fantasy points this week.
Mid-Tier Values ($3,500 to 3,900): The inconsistent play of turnover-prone Cam Newton is reason enough to favor the Miami Dolphins (MIA vs. NE, $3,700) from this tier. Now, consider the play of the Dolphins pass defense itself: the unit ranks among the NFL’s five best in terms of fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks over the last three weeks.
Value Tier ($3,000 to $3,400): We have our eyes on the Tennessee Titans (TEN vs. DET, $3,400), who take on a toothless Lions offense that will likely be missing both Matthew Stafford and Kenny Golladay. We also like the chances of the New England Patriots (NE at MIA $3,000), the NFL’s best pass defense against opposing fantasy quarterbacks since the start of Week 12, having a day against rookie Tua Tagovialoa.
Bargain Bin: We don’t love it, but if budget constraints require, we can get behind the Dallas Cowboys (DAL vs. SF, $2,700) against Nick Mullens and a San Francisco 49ers offense that has been mediocre at best in recent weeks. Over the last five weeks, the 49ers have allowed to 12.5 fantasy points per game to opposing D/STs, most in the NFL.
Best Buy: The Seattle Seahawks (SEA at WAS, $3,100) is our favorite target for the price this week. The unit has really stepped up their play in recent weeks, so the underwhelming Dwayne Haskins will have his hands full against a Seahawks defense that ranks fourth in the NFL over the last three weeks in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, and suprisingly, first overall in shutting down wide receivers over that same timespan.
