Stud: Making a late push in the second half

After trailing by as much as 13 points in the first half, Minnesota managed to try and climb back into the game and actually brought the game back to just three points late, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the NFC North opponent in Minnesota’s final home game of the 2020 campaign.

One bright spot, even though it didn’t result in a win, was that the Vikings were able to make things interesting late and put themselves in a spot to try and put together a comeback.

Dud: Loss puts a nail in the coffin for 2020

With the loss, Minnesota not only dropped to 6-8 overall and have now lost two games in a row with just two games left to play in the regular season, but the loss against Chicago might have been enough to officially push the purple and gold out of the playoff picture in the NFC.

Along with Minnesota falling in the standings, Chicago now moves ahead of the Vikings in the division and in the conference, as the Bears now have a better shot at potentially grabbing that final Wild Card spot in the conference at the end of the year.

Minnesota isn’t officially out of things and even a win by the Vikings wouldn’t have resulted in the team propelling into a playoff spot just yet, but a loss was the last thing the team could afford as it hoped to return to the postseason in 2020.
