Cleveland Browns Stud No. 3: Higgins, Landry, Hooper, Peoples-Jones

As Mayfield was dicing up the Giants, there wasn’t necessarily one dominant pass-catcher. Having said that, his top targets on the night all stepped up in big ways to consistently make plays when called upon.

Rashard Higgins caught four of his five targets for a team-high 76 yards. Jarvis Landry notched a team-high seven receptions on eight targets for 61 yards and a score. Rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones continued his ascension by catching all three of his targets for 55 yards. And Austin Hooper was big with five grabs on six targets for 41 yards and a score.

This offense is clicking without a star wide receiver but the totality of the group right now is impressive. Everyone in the Cleveland passing attack is making plays, which is an extremely positive sign with the playoffs looming.

Cleveland Browns Dud No. 3: Myles Garrett, EDGE

Since coming off the Reserve/COVID-19 list, star pass-rusher Myles Garrett hasn’t exactly lived up to that billing. Sunday night was no exception to that. While the final box score may show that he had 0.5 sacks on the night, that was a garbage-time takedown of Colt McCoy that wasn’t all that impactful. For the rest of the game, however, Garrett was largely stonewalled.

Part of this is tipping your cap to rookie Andrew Thomas, who continues to look like the real deal for the Giants. But at the same time, Garrett is supposed to be a matchup-proof player who consistently makes an impact. They spoke on the broadcast that he’s still clearly trying to get back to 100 percent health after dealing with the virus but the Browns need the defensive end to get to that point sooner rather than later.
