Atlanta Falcons bold predictions in a tough matchup with the Chiefs in Week 16.

Mixed with some recent struggles in the latter portion of the 2020 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons are also in the heart of a brutal stretch to round out the regular season schedule with just a few games left to play.

Having lost three straight games with two weeks remaining, the Falcons will have yet another tough contest in Week 16 on the road. Atlanta will kick off a two-game road slate with taking on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.

The Falcons come into the game with a record of 4-10 overall, having lost three straight games while most recently coming off of a 31-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday in Week 15.

In the loss, Atlanta jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first half to only see another large lead disappear when Tampa Bay stormed back with 31 second-half points to take down the Falcons by four points in the first of two games between the two teams this season.

While Atlanta looks to get back into the win column and pull off a big upset in Week 16 on the road in Kansas City, here are three bold predictions that will take place for the Falcons in the game.

3. Atlanta will struggle against Kansas City passing attack

Through 15 weeks of the 2020 NFL regular season, the most common thing fans have seen is Kansas City’s ability to turn things up quickly on offense and once again feature one of the top offensive units in the entire league.

Led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the plethora of weapons he has within the offense, it’s easy to see why the Chiefs are once again thriving on the offensive side of the ball and that aspect of the team has been what has lifted Kansas City to victory a total of 13 times so far this year.

On Sunday in Week 16, Atlanta will have arguably its toughest test to this point in the year while facing Mahomes and company for four quarters on Kansas City’s home field.

For the Falcons, they have once again struggled on defense with a group that is filled with youth and trying to rebuild to be able to hold opposing offenses in check. Coming into the game, Atlanta holds the 28th-ranked defense in the entire NFL, which is something that Kansas City will try and take advantage of throughout the cross-conference game this weekend.

When you look at the Chiefs, they enter Week 16 with the top-ranked offense in the NFL and the top-ranked passing attack, along with the 14th-ranked running game. Specifically when it comes to Mahomes, he leads the league in passing yards (4,462) and completions (366), while ranking third in passing touchdowns (36) with just five interceptions.

In the Week 16 matchup on Sunday afternoon, Atlanta will struggle defensively while going up against arguably the best offense in the entire NFL.
