Najee Harris, Alabama – Best 2021 NFL Draft Fit: Arizona Cardinals

Why not give Kyler Murray a power back that can help improve the running game? Kenyan Drake is serviceable, but he’s headed for free agency. The Cardinals could bring him back. They should bring him back. while also adding Najee Harris. The senior back could bring the thunder to Drake’s lightning.

Toward the latter quarter of the season, the Cardinals’ running game suffered. The team averaged under 3.5 yards per carry. With Harris, they’ll have a 6-0, 230-pound power runner with good vision and excellent with RPOs.

Harris is a tenacious runner who always looks for the next yard. He doesn’t force big plays, but he will break one here and there. With Murray’s ability to run, Harris will see open lanes and a ton of one-on-one matchups to exploit. In fact, the power runner averages over six yards per carry for his career.

Over the last two seasons, the Crimson Tide back proved he’s a reliable option on third downs. In 24 games, Harris caught 59 passes and 10 touchdowns.

The Cardinals need a short-yardage back. Despite his height, Harris isn’t an easy tackle and has a nose for the endzone. Look no further than his 24 rushing touchdowns in 11 games proves that. Harris will never face eight or nine-man fronts with Murray at quarterback, it’ll be like playing for Bama all over again.
