45. . . Previous: 26th. Denver Broncos. 27. team

Another loss for the Denver Broncos as they fell to 5-10 on the season. Several pundits had them as a team to watch this season after finishing 2019 strong. They reeled off four wins in five games with Drew Lock starting, and then in the draft, they added a lot of weapons for him.

With their top two selections, general manager John Elway added wideouts Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler hoping that Lock could take the next step as a leader. Unfortunately, he seemed to take a step backward this season, and that continued in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Lock was just 24-of-47 with two interceptions in the game. He did add a rushing touchdown which was huge in this low-scoring game, but it wasn’t enough. Denver did show some heart as they found themselves tying things up late in the fourth at 16 but then Justin Herbert and the Chargers went 56 yards on seven plays to set up one more field goal that proved to be the game-winner.

Denver had one last chance as Lock had a Hail Mary attempt from the 50-yard line, but that was picked off by Mike Williams — the Los Angeles wideout who was put in the end zone in anticipation of a jump ball.
