2020 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 17
Pittsburgh Steelers (12-3) at Cleveland Browns (10-5)
Sunday, January 3, 1PM ET
It’s do-or-die for the Cleveland Browns. After dropping the ball against the Jets in Week 16, they must win this game if they want to book their trip to the playoffs. There’s still an outside chance they’re postseason bound even if they lose, but they can’t hope for the dice to roll their way.
Luckily for the Browns, it seems likely the Pittsburgh Steelers will hit the field with at least a few key starters wearing sweatshirts and beanies. That could be just the opportunity Cleveland needs to capitalize and force their way back into the AFC playoff picture.
Regardless of who’s playing, the Browns have to come out firing on all cylinders. For most of 2020, Kevin Stefanski has had this team looking like the contender they appeared to be in recent years. With at least a few of their top receivers back in the mix after missing Week 16 for COVID-related reasons, the offense should be ready to go.
Even against Pittsburgh’s tough defense, the Browns get the job done. They score just enough while limiting the Steelers’ offense, handing them their fourth loss in five games while potentially setting up a grudge match in the first round of the playoffs.
Prediction: Browns win 18-16
