2020 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 17
Miami Dolphins (10-5) at Buffalo Bills (12-3)
Sunday, January 3, 1PM ET
With their thrashing of the Patriots on Monday night, the Buffalo Bills are sitting pretty with the playoffs looming just around the corner. Now all they have left is a meeting with the Miami Dolphins, a divisional foe that desperately needs a win.
Technically, the Dolphins can still get into the playoffs with a loss. But they’ll need help if that ends up being the case. While they’ll come out ready to do whatever’s necessary to get the W, I won’t be surprised if the Bills don’t pull any punches — they need a win to retain the No. 2 seed, which could go to the Steelers if Buffalo loses in Week 17.
Even if the Bills do end up sitting some starters, I wouldn’t be surprised if they still walked away victorious. They’ve got one of the better defenses in the NFL and will be facing off against a rookie quarterback who’s been benched twice this season. Something tells me the Buffalo D is going to eat him for lunch.
The Bills lock down the second seed and hand the Dolphins a devastating loss. If everything else goes as I’ve predicted, we won’t be seeing Miami in the playoffs. Seems odd considering how good they’ve been all season long, but that’s the reality of fighting for those Wild Card spots.
Prediction: Bills win 26-21
