These six rookies haven’t played as well in 2020 as fans were hoping.

There’s a lot of pressure that comes with being a first-round pick in the NFL. Fans are hoping that first-round rookies can come in and contribute right away, but sometimes it takes a bit to really get a stranglehold on how things go in the NFL.

There were a lot of expectations on these six rookies and for the most part, they’ve disappointed greatly in the 2020 season.

Let’s take a look at the most disappointing first-round rookies in 2020.

Most Disappointing Rookies in 2020 NFL Season – No. 6: Jerry Jeudy

The Denver Broncos had a gameplan this offseason and that was to add as many offensive weapons as possible so that they could try to go blow-for-blow with the Kansas City Chiefs. The first step of that strategy was drafting Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy No. 15 overall.

Jeudy being the first receiver off the board in the draft seemed like a sure thing, but instead, he was actually the second one selected, as teammate Henry Ruggs went a few picks before. Jeudy hasn’t been bad, but there’s no debating that this season has been a disappointment for the rookie.

As of now, Jeudy has 47 receptions for 716 yards and two touchdowns. These aren’t bad numbers, but Broncos fans were definitely expecting more from the Alabama wideout. While Jeudy has struggled with drops, the lack of production hasn’t all been on him, however, as Drew Lock missed some time due to injuries and even when he was playing, wasn’t as effective as he could be.

Jeudy’s best game came in Week 9 when he caught seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons. That’s easily been his best performance of the season, but maybe after a real offseason, Jeudy and Lock will have a better connection and we’ll get to see it in 2021.
