New England Patriots dynasty must be revered not reviled
Instead of despising the New England Patriots dynasty, why not respect it?
From 2000-19, the New England Patriots sustained success that will likely never be replicated in the NFL, highlighted by six Super Bowl championships. However, with that success came a bundle of scrutiny, almost to the point of pure resentment. Mind you, when you have years upon years of success, you will eventually face scrutiny.
Whether it be through scandals such as Spygate or Deflategate, or even the consistent appearances in the postseason to where it resulted in eight consecutive conference championship games, the reality is, they were loved by the locals and despised by the outsiders.
Following their disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night in Week 16, it was evident that the dynasty was crumbling. Whether or not it ends completely remains to be seen. For what it’s worth, though, instead of celebrating the possible end, why not reminisce on the memories?
This run of excellence may never be seen again. Furthermore, think about how it started. A coach that was discarded by Cleveland coupled with a sixth-round draft pick that was given a bad scouting report joined to accomplish the ultimate goal while solidifying their place in NFL History.

It’s easy to point fingers and speculate that Tom Brady or Bill Belichick was largely responsible for the New England Patriots’ success. That is not needed. This was a joint effort. Furthermore, what must be praised above all is their ability to prove pundits wrong time and time again.
Additionally, they did it with players who were simply asked to “do their job”. This season has not gone well for New England, but that’s what happens when you sell out to win Super Bowls. To make money, you have to spend money. In football, you must put the effort and have the will to win in order to sustain excellence.

The New England Patriots are one of the NFL’s and sports’ greatest dynasties. Everyone will have different feelings about this run of excellence. However, it would be wise to appreciate the greatness and admire the level of consistency instead of resorting to resentment and consistent grievances as to when it would end.
