Derrick Henry joined the elite 2,000-yard club while leading the Titans atop the AFC South.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is no stranger to producing highlight-reel and mind-boggling runs; his latest highlight warrants an ovation. Against the Houston Texans, Henry became the eighth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season.

Notable names include Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson and fellow Titans running back Chris Johnson. In other words, this is a historic moment for the Titans organization, having produced two 2,000 yard running backs in their history. Moreover, Henry’s foray into the record books also helped the Titans secure a home game to begin the AFC playoffs.

While Tennessee managed to win the AFC South thanks to a game-winning kick, they had already clinched a playoff berth by virtue of the Miami Dolphins falling to the Buffalo Bills. Now, they have another chance to finish what they started last postseason that culminated with an AFC Championship Game.

Derrick Henry will once again determine the postseason outcome of the Titans

There is nothing to debate. The Titans will go as Derrick Henry goes. Given his pedigree and how the offense runs around his production, opposing defenses know what they need to do. But as Tennessee showed last year in the postseason, no defense showed the ability to do that until the Chiefs had the offensive firepower to match them.

Given that Henry has already joined NFL history, the pressure mounts on the offensive line. While they have the opportunity to say that they blocked for a 2,000-yard back, they now have to justify their received applause by performing well in the playoffs. The same goes for the defense in terms of creating additional opportunities for their offense.
