The Indianapolis Colts got a little help to make it into the AFC playoff field.

Upon the Miami Dolphins being eliminated by the Buffalo Bills, the Indianapolis Colts saw an opportunity and embraced it with a fantastic performance in Week 17. A dominant victory from a once divisional opponent combined with their own victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars sends Indianapolis to the NFL playoffs for the second time in three years.

Buffalo’s gift to the Colts was well received. Given that the Colts came into the game looking for a spot in the playoffs they had before losing it a week ago. Now, they can enjoy the night knowing that they are in the field and they can contend for another week. And perhaps coming in as the No. 7 seed will allow them to play with an edge.

In previous years, being the No. 7 ranked team in the conference meant just missing out on the postseason. Thanks to the change in format, the Colts another day to live. To their credit, they have the type of team that can provide a surprise.

The Indianapolis Colts just made it in and now they are here to win.

The identity of the Indianapolis Colts is installed in their offensive line. Led by guard Quenton Nelson and rookie Johnathan Taylor’s power running, the Colts present a unique challenge. Additionally, they have an old workhorse at quarterback who is known for making the postseason Phillip Rivers. While his record leaves a lot to be desired, he does have the experience, and anything helps.

Additionally, the defense has stepped their game up. Come postseason time, the team that gets hot at the right time can find themselves pulling off upsets and making noise throughout the playoffs. With the AFC littered with high powered offenses, their smash-mouth football method can be enough to combat finesse with power.

The Indianapolis Colts are back in the playoffs. Their building is littered with banners, although most are division titles. If you ask their fans, they would like to raise a championship banner. That sounds a lot better to them and the players.
