Minnesota Vikings: Studs and duds from wild, record-setting win in Week 17
Stud: Jefferson sets rookie record
Coming into the Week 17 contest, Vikings rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson was on the verge of breaking a rookie franchise record for most receiving yards in an inaugural campaign, needing just 47 yards to do just that.
Jefferson needed just 46 yards to tie Randy Moss’ rookie record of 1,313 receiving yards, a mark the legendary wideout set during the 1998 season. In the game in Detroit, Jefferson did just that, breaking the record in the third quarter. In fact, he even set the new rookie record for most receiving yards in the Super Bowl era, breaking Anquan Boldin’s previous record of 1,377 set in 2003.

By the end of the contest, Jefferson finished with nine catches for 133 yards in what was another dominant performance from the rookie.
It was certainly an impressive year for the wide receiver, a record-year in fact.
Dud: Fumble issues
To kick off the game, the Vikings fumbled the ball twice in the first half although they recovered the ball both times. Tyler Conklin and Justin Jefferson committed those first two fumbles for Minnesota.
In the second half, Minnesota managed to not have any of those issues continue to appear which allowed it to be able to come out on top in the end.
At least the fumble issues didn’t end up hurting Minnesota too much in the contest, but the Vikings need to worry about hanging onto the football throughout the course of the game.
