Minnesota Vikings: Studs and duds from wild, record-setting win in Week 17
Stud: Kirk Cousins
For most of the 2020 campaign, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has been solid under center leading an offense that has ranked in the top half of the NFL in multiple stats.
In the regular-season finale on Sunday afternoon in Detroit, Cousins did a nice job in stepping up for Minnesota yet again while putting together a nice performance in the final game of the year.
In the game, Cousins finished with 28 completions on 40 pass attempts, throwing for a season-high 405 yards and three touchdowns along the way. He also ran in for one touchdown on the ground.
Dud: Kicking issues continued
One of the biggest storylines in the second half of the season for Minnesota has been the struggles kicking the ball, specifically with kicker Dan Bailey. Bailey has been brutal over the last handful of weeks, arguably costing the Vikings chances to come out on top in at least a couple games this year.
On Sunday in the final game of the season, those struggles continued for the veteran kicker, with Bailey finishing 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts while also missing an extra point in the game. It didn’t end up costing Minnesota this time around, but the struggles kicking the ball have continued to be a huge issue.
