1. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

The Jets can use a spark at quarterback. The power dual-threat that is Justin Fields can be that guy. Since the start of the season, Fields was the clearcut No. 2 quarterback on draft boards. His 382-yard, six-touchdowns destroyed Clemson in the Sugar Bowl proving he’s not a constellation prize.

At 6-3 and 230 pounds, Fileds has the ideal size and strength to stand tall in the pocket. He does a great job shaking off defenders, keeping his eyes downfield. He’s not a runner, but he can run when things get tough. RPOs

As a passer, Fields has the tools to work in any offense. His release is ideal, and the ball comes out with plenty of velocity. Ohio State moved Fields around, allowing him to make plays with his arm and athleticism. He excelled at making throws on the move, on either side.

He’s great with RPOs thanks to his ball-handling and vision. The former Buckeye is a downhill runner with a powerful leg drive. No matter who the Jets new coach is, they must tailor their offense around Field’s skill-set. If so, he could have an immediate impact.
