Justin Fields makes a leap to the Jaguars at No. 1 in this 2021 NFL Mock Draft

The season is over for 18 teams now as we have passed Week 17 of the 2020-21 NFL season. That helps us here as we dive into our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft since the first 18 picks are now officially set.

There really weren’t too many surprises in the final week of the season as many of the teams needing to get a win to secure their spot in the postseason got that. The Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts finished the job in the AFC and the Washington Football Team and Los Angeles Rams got it done in the NFC ‚— whereas the Chicago BEars got some help from the Rams as well.

With all that being said, we now look ahead to the coming offseason and predict where the top prospects in the draft will end up — starting with Justin Fields making a leap following a great performance this weekend as Ohio State shocked Clemson.

Maybe it’s overacting to jump Justin Fields over Trevor Lawrence but the fact is, Fields absolutely dominated in the biggest game of his season — against Lawrence and the Tigers. Fields was locked in during the Sugar Bowl as he threw six touchdowns while completing 22-of-28 passes for 385 yards. He added an additional 42 yards on the ground as well, showing off his ability with his legs.

On top of that performance, he seems to be the better fit for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fields’ ability to improvise and move the ball with his legs will be huge since the Jaguars don’t exactly have a full cupboard of talent. This pick will be questioned but he still feels like a ‘can’t miss’ prospect.

While Justin Fields stole the show, Trevor Lawrence had the better career. Unfortunately for him, that means he ends up landing with one of the most frustratingly bad franchises in the league. After almost escaping the New York Jets after they lost the No. 1 pick, Lawrence ends up falling to them here.

It may seem bad for him but with a new coaching staff in town, he might be able to revive this team. Should he do so, Lawrence will be a legend in the Big Apple which means this could be a blessing in disguise.
