2021 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Fields leaps to Jaguars at No. 1, Dolphins nab Ja’Marr Chase
By Randy Gurzi
(Pick via Los Angeles Rams): The Jacksonville Jaguars have two picks in the opening round for the second season in a row and while they added two defenders in 2020, this season is all about offense. They already went with a new quarterback with their first pick and now, they decide to address their blocking in front of him by selecting Oklahoma’s Creed Humphrey.
He can play center or either of the guard spots for the Jags but the important thing is, he would give them a gifted leader for their offensive line with a high football IQ. The turnaround in Jacksonville could be for real this time as long as they hit on these selections.
The Indianapolis Colts got it done on Sunday and made it to the playoffs with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. They’ve been a solid team this season, but they need some youth at wide receiver, especially with T.Y. Hilton trending in the wrong direction. Looking for a new No. 1 threat on offense, they use this pick on DeVonta Smith from Alabama.
Smith is a sure-handed receiver with an extensive route tree. He might not be a big-bodied wideout but he’s still great in traffic and knows how to rack up extra yardage after the reception as well. He should be an instant playmaker for the Colts.
