Deshaun Watson trade landing spot No. 2: New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees might be playing his final game(s) and if this truly is it for the Saints quarterback, Sean Payton would jump at the chance to replace him with Watson. It’d be an amazing fit too, as Watson would join a Super Bowl contender with one of the best defenses in the league as well as having Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas at his disposal.

Payton is one of the best coaches there is and he knows how to win. Pairing him and Watson after having Brees for well over a decade would just be unfair to the rest of the league. The problem here is that the Saints don’t have much money or draft capital to make this trade happen and this is the type of situation where the most elaborate deal is going to win.

Another thing to consider here is that Payton really does seem married to the idea that Taysom Hill is the next starting quarterback of the Saints. One would have to think that Payton, one of the best offensive minds in the league, would abandon ship on Hill in order to bring Watson in. The Saints would be such a good fit for Watson and he’d get to play in a dome too, which would be even more fun to watch.
