3. Houston Texans

It might seem odd to have the Texans this high up considering just how laughable their offseason situation looks, but the reason Houston is a desirable job is because of Deshaun Watson. So many teams struggle to round the corner because they can’t find a quarterback, but the Texans have their quarterback. It’s the rest of the team that needs fine-tuning, especially the defensive side of things.

Whoever takes this job won’t have much to work with this offseason, as the Texans have no first or second-round draft picks and their salary cap situation isn’t great. However, J.J. Watt has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be apart of another rebuild and the Texans could look to trade other pieces as well to A) Clear cap space and B) Gain more draft picks.

Head coaches always have to evaluate the quarterback when they accept a new job and whoever the Texans hire knows who their quarterback will be not just for this year, but for the next 10 years. That’s a nice position to be in and while the team doesn’t have much to work with as far as adding talent, they can do some work this offseason to open things up a bit more.
