2. Los Angeles Chargers

Some might have the Chargers’ vacancy as the best one this offseason, but there are a fair share of negatives surrounding this job. First and foremost, the Chargers are in the same division as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Secondly, the Bolts are second-best to the Rams in Los Angeles. Thirdly, the reputation surrounding the Los Angeles Chargers isn’t a great one, but some of that could have been as a result of Anthony Lynn’s poor decision-making skills.

The best reason for why the Chargers job is desirable, however, is that they have their quarterback of the future in Justin Herbert. It might have only been one season from Herbert, but it’s hard not to see this kid being a star in the NFL, even after just one year of action.

The Chargers have talent on their roster, they have the No. 13 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and their salary cap situation is enough to work with. Having to face Mahomes twice a year isn’t going to be fun, but if the Chargers hire the right person, they might eventually be able to make some serious noise in the AFC West and be the team to beat in the division.
