2021 NFL Playoffs: 10 Bold predictions for the Wild Card Round
NFL Playoffs Wild Card prediction No. 2: Four lower seeds win
With the addition of an extra Wild Card Round game in each conference, the potential for more chaotic results is put into play. After all, there are now only two teams that have first-round byes in the entire 2021 NFL Playoff, meaning that the potential for upsets is clearer than ever before. Subsequently, we’re going to see that play out on Saturday and Sunday.
In terms of lower seeds winning, the Ravens and Buccaneers are two obvious candidates against the Titans and Football Team, respectively. However, there are no games in which you can say with 100 percent confidence that the higher seed is going to win. There is a ton of parity throughout the postseason field and that will be made evident with four lower seeds advancing to the Divisional Round.
NFL Playoffs Wild Card prediction No. 1: Big Ben commits 4 turnovers
Because of the Browns’ issues with COVID-19 right now, it feels as if everyone is overlooking the issues in Pittsburgh on the field. But it’s pretty telling that, outside of the win over the Colts in Week 16, the Steelers offense has been quite bad with Ben Roethlisberger under center. Before the Colts win, he had just five touchdowns and four interceptions amid a three-game losing streak while also throwing for under 190 yards in two of those games.
The Cleveland defense hasn’t exactly been a juggernaut but, with the return to the postseason fueling them, they’ll get after them in a big way. And that will cause the aging Steelers quarterback issues. He’ll not only throw multiple interceptions but will fumble at least once, thus putting Pittsburgh in a bind as the home favorite in the Wild Card Round.
