The Bears and Saints match up on Wild Card Weekend of the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

Boasting a 12-4 record, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints enter the 2021 NFL Playoffs hoping for one last Super Bowl run before the quarterback hangs it up. But to get there, they first must hold serve at home in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as they play host to the 8-8 Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round on Sunday.

Brees missed time throughout the year but the Saints managed to still persevere. Now they’ll have their full complement of weapons with Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas on the field this Sunday. But it could well be the talented and stingy defense that plays a bigger role in their success in the Wild Card matchup.

Part of the reason for that is that the Bears still have one of the better defenses in the league. But the offense in Chicago remains a bit of a thrill ride with Mitchell Trubisky back at quarterback. He’ll rely heavily on the likes of running back David Montgomery and wideout Allen Robinson but all of the above will draw tough matchups against this New Orleans defensive unit.

So how will things play out in the Bears vs. Saints playoff matchup on Sunday with a berth in the Divisional Round on the line? Let’s dive in and give you everything you need to know for this game

How to watch Bears vs. Saints in the Wild Card Round

Date: Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021
Start Time: 4:40 p.m. ET
Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome – New Orleans, LA

Sunday’s matchup from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans can be seen on CBS but with a kid-centric simulcast on Nickelodeon as well. The latter should be a wild, unique experience, to say the least. Regardless, you can stream the game via CBS All-Access with a cable, satellite or service subscription.

Considering that the regular-season meeting — albeit in Chicago — resulted in a three-point overtime win for the Saints, seeing them as such heavy favorites is a bit odd. The Bears don’t tend to play high-scoring games, so my lean for this game would be to take Chicago and the points while also hammering the under.

Bears vs. Saints pick and predictions for Wild Card playoff matchup

Once these two teams have gone 60 minutes, my bet would be that you won’t feel that confident in either team. Outside of Kamara, I don’t see anyone on the Saints having a particularly good day offensively. At the same time, New Orleans should be able to limit Trubisky and David Montgomery with relative ease.

Simply because they have more ways to win and they’re playing at home, I don’t see how you could pick against New Orleans in this one. It’ll likely be gritty and, at times, quite ugly but Brees and Co. will advance to the Divisional Round with a victory.
