Sunday Wild Card DraftKings NFL picks: Tight Ends

Had Mark Andrews ($5,200) enjoyed a big Week 17, I’d probably be all over him considering he had 11 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown over the previous two weeks. But after four catches on seven targets for only 27 yards, I don’t know if I can justify paying top-dollar at the position for a player who has been sporadic over the year. Then again, he has the best upside.

Both Jared Cook ($4,600) and Austin Hooper ($3,900) are intriguing cheap plays to me, even if they are the second and third-highest priced players on the DraftKings Sunday Wild Card slate. Cook has 23 targets over his last five games and three touchdowns over that span while Hooper has 16 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns over his final three regular season games.

If you’re looking for tight end value on Sunday, you could take a flier on Cole Kmet ($3,000) as he’s accrued 14 targets over his last two games with the Bears, including seven receptions for 41 yards last week. Going even cheaper, David Njoku ($2,800) has nine targets over the last two games and could be a quick checkdown option for the Cleveland offense as they look to get the ball out quickly.

Tight ends to avoid for this slate include Eric Ebron ($3,700) and Vance McDonald ($2,900) as the usage is too spotty to trust. The same is true for both Jimmy Graham ($3,300) and Jonnu Smith ($3,200) as those two players also draw potentially tough matchups against the Saints and Ravens, respectively.
