Six teams were eliminated from the postseason. What’s one thing they can look forward to in 2021?

After the dust cleared from Wild Card weekend, six NFL teams saw their 2020 seasons come to an end. The Colts couldn’t overcome the red-hot Bills, the Seahawks were upset at home by the Rams, Washington came up short against the Bucs, the other three games here.

Even those these six teams will now begin their offseason, there’s some optimism for all of them as far as the 2021 NFL season is concerned.

Let’s explore what each of these teams should be patting themselves on the back for after their 2020 campaign.

Indianapolis Colts: Quarterback away from contending

The Colts’ defense is one of the best in the league and we saw how dominant rookie Jonathan Taylor was in the final month of the season. Throw in that T.Y. Hilton is still his usual self, Michael Pittman proved to be a promising player, and the offensive line is insanely good, and the Colts are so close to being a true Super Bowl contender.

Bringing Philip Rivers in wasn’t a bad idea for the Colts and he was serviceable for the team, but the arm strength isn’t what it once was and Indy definitely needs to upgrade at the position this offseason. They have everything else a Super Bowl contender needs except for the quarterback, so that needs to be priority No. 1 this offseason.

Whether it’s trading for Sam Darnold or Carson Wentz or maybe moving up in the draft to take one of these promising young quarterbacks, Chris Ballard needs to get his team a quarterback to help them take the next step. The rest of the Colts are ready to win a Super Bowl, but the sport’s biggest position is the only thing they don’t have.
