FanDuel NFL picks, Divisional Round: Best DFS fantasy football advice
FanDuel NFL picks and lineup advice for your Divisional Round DFS lineup.
Just because the NFL Playoffs have started doesn’t mean our FanDuel NFL picks and advice stop. With a majority of NFL teams eliminated, DFS fantasy football is a great way to enjoy the NFL playoffs if your favorite team has already been eliminated. If you already played DFS in the regular season, playoff DFS is a great way to hone your skills with a smaller player pool.
FanDuel NFL DFS in the Divisional Round is even more challenging than the Wild Card Round, as there are only four teams on this slate. If you were to play a top quarterback along with a few top ten wide receivers and running backs you would easily cash on a normal week in the regular season. However, in the Divisional Round you need to pick a few of the top players at every position in order to cash.
When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also assume a full roster lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, FLEX, TE, and D/ST. Note that your individual strategy should change based on the type of formats you enter, and I will reference strong plays in cash and tournament formats.
Without further ado, here are my FanDuel DFS picks for the NFL Divisional Round!
FanDuel NFL Divisional Round Picks and Advice: Quarterback
The quarterbacks are in two tiers this week, with four representing the top options and four representing cheaper plays. Patrick Mahomes ($9,200) is the most expensive quarterback on this slate, and with good reason. Cleveland’s defense is easily the worst defense remaining in the playoffs and Mahomes should have his way with them coming off a bye week.
However, there will be plenty of competition for the top spot at quarterback this week, as Josh Allen ($8,800), Aaron Rodgers ($8,400), and Lamar Jackson ($8,000) are three other fantastic options at a slightly cheaper price point.
Of those three, I prefer Lamar Jackson at $8,000 due to his rushing upside. He has at least 80 rushing yards in five of his last six games and has scored five times in that span on the ground. Even though he has not been spectacular as a passer, his floor and tremendous upside are hard to pass up when he is priced as the QB4 on the slate.
While I would not necessarily fade Rodgers, I would tamper expectations of a big game from him. We have only seen him get completely shut down once this year but he has scored a majority of his fantasy points from touchdowns as opposed to yards. With the Rams having the best defense in the NFL, I think we see around a 20 point game from Rodgers instead of a ceiling performance.
While I do think you should pay up for one of these top options, I do see some value in Drew Brees at only $7300. Tampa Bay pass defense has been terrible after a dominant start to the year, and with Michael Thomas back to full health, Brees could certainly put up a 300 yard, three-touchdown effort.
