FanDuel NFL Divisional Round Picks and Advice: Tight End
Similar to the whole year, Travis Kelce ($8,500) is far and away the most expensive tight end on the slate. Even though it was usually advisable to punt the tight end position and not play Kelce in cash formats due to his high salary, it becomes harder to fade Kelce with fewer viable punt options.
Mark Andrews ($6,600) has not found the end zone in three weeks but I think that changes this week against a Buffalo defense that has not been able to cover the tight end all year. Andrews represents a safe, cheaper pivot off of Kelce with a realistic chance to finish as the TE1 on the slate.
However, there are also some standout cheaper options as well. Austin Hooper ($5,500) and Jared Cook ($5,600) are my two favorite pay down options this week. The Chiefs have been extremely susceptible to the tight end this year and Austin Hooper has seen 31 total targets the past three weeks.
While Hooper is certainly the safer play, Jared Cook has been Drew Bree’s second favorite target as of late and has always had a nose for the end zone. Tampa Bay’s defense has also been extremely vulnerable to the tight end position all year.
FanDuel NFL Divisional Round Picks and Advice: D/ST
With only eight options on the slate and most of the best offenses still in the playoffs, your choice at defense is less likely to separate you from the competition. This week is pretty simple, with the Chiefs ($4,200) being the best value play with the Browns only having a team implied total of 23.5 points.
However, if you want to spend up at more predictable positions, play the Los Angeles Rams defense for only $3,800. While their matchup is not exactly ideal, they are still the best defense in the NFL and the Packers only have a team implied total of 26 points.
