The Green Bay Packers rose to the occasion in every facet of the game to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship Game.

Throughout the tenure of Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers defense has often been the reason why the team has struggled in the playoffs. But in the Divisional Round matchup against the Rams, they not only had to contend with that but with the league’s top defense this season.

After a 32-18 victory and with a ticket to the NFC Championship Game now punched, suffice it to say that the Packers have found a recipe that’s clearly working.

Defensively, the Packers made life miserable for Jared Goff and company, setting up Green Bay to advance to the NFC title matchup for the second year in a row. And this time, it will be in the confines of Lambeau Field. If the performance were to replicate, the warm weather of Tampa Bay would be their next destination.

How could anyone overlook Green Bay now? Are they a juggernaut that’s unstoppable? No. However, when you look at the defense playing at this level, how could you not believe that this team as a viable contender to be bound for the Super Bowl?

The Green Bay Packers defense must continue their positive trend if they wish to reach the Super Bowl.

Green Bay is not done just yet. The Super Bowl is still one huge win away, namely in the NFC Championship Game. Fans in Lambeau have been disappointed in the Rodgers era outside of one season. However, those frowns in Lambeau have the potential to be turned upside down based on the performance of the defense in-sync with a potent offense.

Rodgers had two touchdown passes, including the clincher to Allen Lazard, and a beautiful rushing score. But it was the opposing side of the ball that was able to help their team come through.

The Green Bay defense came through for them on Saturday night, looking like a stalwart in a big moment; and it’s a moment to be happy. But the journey is not done just yet. Given what New Orleans and Tampa Bay bring to the table, the Packers defense must step their game up yet again if they want a chance at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy once again.
