The Los Angeles Rams can use the 2021 NFL Draft to their advantage and a 7-round mock draft after their loss in the Divisional Round playoffs to the Packers.

Upsetting the Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend turned out to be the highlight of the Los Angeles Rams‘ run in the 2021 NFL Playoffs. They came into the Divisional Round matchup against Green Bay hoping their top-ranked defense could guide the way again but, alas, they were sent packing — no pun intended — by a superior team.

As the Rams look towards the offseason and the 2021 NFL Draft, they do have their work cut out for them. Without a first-round pick thanks to the Jalen Ramsey trade, they must look to address big needs on both sides of the ball. Whether that’s ensuring the protection of Jared Goff or shoring up the back-seven on defense, the job ahead is not an easy one.

Taking that into account, let’s look at what the Los Angeles Rams can get in the draft as we go through a 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft. This mock was compiled using The Draft Network mock draft machine.

The future of Andrew Whitworth has been uncertain for some time, meaning it’s increasingly likely that the stalwart left tackle hangs it up after this season. That leaves an offensive line that has been patch-worked together in an extremely tough spot. So it should be no surprise to see the Rams use their first selection in the 2021 NFL Draft to address that need.

It should be noted that taking Dillon Radunz does bring some inherent risk. As a product of North Dakota State, the big offensive tackle will be making a substantial leap in level of competition as he comes to the NFL. In turn, there could be a substantial learning curve ahead.

While that may be true, Radunz is a terrific prospect who Rams fans would be excited to have in the building. At 6-6, 301 pounds, he plays more powerful than his frame might suggest and is extremely effective in the run game. He’s also a nice athlete who has great body control that he uses to his advantage on all levels.

Radunz could come in and start for the Rams if Whitworth leaves. Again, there may be some early growing pains but he checks the boxes physically to be a success with some NFL experience getting under his belt. That could be especially true if he continues to add quality mass to his frame.
