And as such, they entered the 2021 NFL Playoffs as the top seed in the NFC. So on the heels of their first-round bye, they now welcome the surging Los Angeles Rams to Lambeau Field for the Divisional Round.
Aaron Rodgers was at the forefront of Green Bay’s success this year, playing at a level that will likely earn him another NFL MVP trophy. With his success also came another thriving year from Davante Adams and Aaron Jones in the offense.
That elite offense, however, will match up against a Rams defense that has been fierce behind superstars Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. For the playoff game, though, the big question is on offense as Jared Goff will start at quarterback once again, despite still healing from thumb surgery that is clearly still hindering him.

Oddsmakers did a phenomenal job setting these lines to make it difficult. The Packers being just shy of a touchdown favorite (the line opened at -7) with the lowest point total of the weekend makes it tough to swallow. After all, that’s a lot of points if there aren’t going to be that many scored.
Having said that, my lean is towards both Green Bay and the over. Even with the strength of the Rams defense, Rodgers should still find success and Los Angeles doesn’t have the full arsenal to match up with that as Goff is at less than 100 percent.

Football fans should be thrilled about this matchup in the NFC. Having a matchup between the Packers offense and Rams defense gives us two of the best units in their respective fields going toe-to-toe.
While that may be true, we’ve seen in recent years in the NFL that a great offense can overcome a top-tier defense. Subsequently, Green Bay should be given the edge there. And while the Pack defense isn’t perfect, there isn’t enough in Los Angeles with Goff still recovering from his thumb surgery to believe they can match it.

At the end of the day, we should see chalk play out on Saturday afternoon in Lambeau Field. Rodgers and Co. are the better team who have played more consistently throughout the year, which will push them through to a decisive win and the NFC Championship Game.
