Buffalo Bills (2) at Kansas City Chiefs (1)

Sunday, January 24, 6:40PM ET

It would be easy to pick the Kansas City Chiefs in this one. They’re the defending champs, they’ve got Patrick Mahomes on their side, and Andy Reid running the show. Why not send the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl with a potential repeat on the line?

Because I believe in the potential of the Buffalo Bills. I picked them at the start of the 2021 playoffs to win it all, and I’m not backing down on that prediction. Josh Allen has been outstanding all postseason long, and the Buffalo defense is working wonders on opponents — did you see them hold the Baltimore Ravens to only three points?

Obviously the Chiefs have been great as well, although I’m a little uncertain after they nearly coughed it up against the Cleveland Browns. To top it off, Mahomes is coming off an injury that took him out of Kansas City’s showdown with the Browns. Additionally, I’m not as confident in their defense as I am in Buffalo’s.

Allen gets going early, but Mahomes matches him to start. However, after a couple of turnovers by the Chiefs, the Bills start to pull away. Kansas City makes one final push in the waning minutes, but comes up just short as Buffalo gets its first trip to the Super Bowl since 1994.

Prediction: Bills win 31-28
