Green Bay Packers: 7-Round 2021 NFL mock draft after another NFC Championship loss
The Green Bay Packers lost their second consecutive NFC Championship Game and we look at how they can improve in this 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft.
Whether bad officiating, bad head coach decision-making or bad on-field performance was most to blame, the simple truth is that the Green Bay Packers made it to the NFC Championship Game once again. And for the fourth time in five tries with Aaron Rodgers and for the second straight year, the Pack won’t be playing in the Super Bowl.
It has to be frustrating for Rodgers, Davante Adams and fans in Green Bay to consistently fall short in this manner. However, with the quarterback coming off of a season that will likely win him NFL MVP, make no mistake that this team isn’t done trying to get Rodgers the second Super Bowl ring of his career. To do that, though, the 2021 NFL Draft will be vital.
So on the heels of the NFC Championship Game loss to the Buccaneers, let’s dive into the offseason with a 7-round Green Bay Packers 2021 NFL mock draft to see how they can improve the roster. This mock draft was compiled using The Draft Network mock draft machine.

The Packers have an undeniable stud at cornerback in Jaire Alexander. He was one of the best at the position in the league this season and that was on display with two interceptions against the Buccaneers. His running mate on the outside, Kevin King, however, had arguably the worst day of anyone in the NFC Championship Game.
King was roasted on the opening touchdown for Mike Evans and then severely mistimed his jump to try and still make a play. He was again burned by Scotty Miller just before halftime to give up another costly score. And finally, it was his pass interference penalty late in the fourth quarter that ultimately locked up the Packers loss.
It’s clear that, to supplement Alexander, Green Bay needs strong additions to the cornerback group. So we start that by taking Asante Samuel Jr. in the first round. While he doesn’t have ideal size at 5-10, the Florida State product would be a phenomenal addition who could play on the inside or outside for the Packers defense.
Samuel is great in man coverage with great athleticism and fluidity with his footwork. Moreover, he’s also a willing and capable defender against the run. If the Packers aren’t scared off by his lack of size, the film shows a player who would bolster the defense in a major way moving forward.
