Former Pittsburgh Steelers stars Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are a win away from a championship while not wearing the black and gold.

At one point in time, running back Le’Veon Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown were shining young stars for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In fact, in 2016, both were responsible for their team reaching the AFC Championship game.

Though the dream ended against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, after motivation from a Facebook live video inside the Steelers locker room, there was still hope on the horizon. But soon, things fell apart, and both men, via their actions, left the Steel City with no bling to show for and empty expectations.

Fast forward to 2020, and Bell is an AFC Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs. Brown, on the other hand, reunited with Brady in Tampa Bay to take the NFC Title. Pittsburgh? They started 11-0 and looked poised to win it all before folding fast and losing their way.

In other words, their bigger stars of the past decade made it to the big game, but not with Pittsburgh. A stinging pain for both Ben Roethlisberger and the fans themselves.

The Pittsburgh Steelers missed their chances to win with their stars, and it will sting for a long time.

It’s unbelievable that the two stars that were once the Steelers offense icons are no longer the same player, yet they are in the Super Bowl without wearing black or gold. Regardless of feeling, one of them will be a champion in two weeks.

Some will root for Bell after the pain he endured in New York and hope he gets a glory moment. Some root for Brown because he produced on the field at points. However, it’s easy to see why neither one has a rooting interest. Bell has not produced much this year while Brown still has off the field issues that need attending to.

It all doesn’t work at this point. By the end of Feb. 7, one of the former members of the famed “Killer B’s” will add Super Bowl champion to his resume. The other will be left empty-handed but will have the memory of making it this far. The Steelers, however, have nothing to show for it — and that stings the most.
