30 NFL teams are now looking ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft as the Super Bowl 55 matchup is set and we have a new 2021 NFL mock draft to help project how teams can keep building.

Victories for the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in the respective conference championship matchups have the stage set for Super Bowl LV. For the other 30 teams in the league, though, it’s about building the roster to try and get to the last game of the year in the future. And the 2021 NFL Draft is the most obvious path for that.

The Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers now know where they’ll be picking in the 2021 NFL Draft, at No. 30 and 29, respectively. Both teams are clearly just short of being in the Super Bowl, so it will be interesting to see what pieces they could add to try and get over the hump. And what better way to look at that than with another 2021 NFL mock draft.

With 30 pick positions set and one game left to play, let’s dive into the full first-round 2021 NFL mock draft to see how teams can get on their own track to the Super Bowl.

Pre-Super Bowl 2021 NFL mock draft

QB. Clemson. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 52. Trevor Lawrence. 1

There’s a lot to unpack with the hiring of Urban Meyer who takes over for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Overall, it seems to be a questionable choice for them — not because he’s not a good coach, but because he continues to quit coaching for health reasons.

Still, he has the smarts to win but collegiate coaches often struggle at the NFL level. Then again, not many of those college coaches were able to land someone such as Trevor Lawrence with their first pick. While we don’t know if Meyer will be the long-term guy, we do know that Lawrence is everything this franchise needs under center.

2. 30. Scouting Report. Ohio State. Justin Fields. Pick Analysis. QB. player

Could the Jaguars go after Justin Fields now that Urban Meyer is their coach? Not likely, even though there are ties since Fields played for Meyer’s former assistant Ryan Day.

If so, it could be good for the New York Jets who own the No. 2 pick, but it’s not as if they’re out of luck with the way this draft is likely to play out. Landing Fields at No. 2 is no consolation prize as this kid is the real deal.

New York also hit a home run with the hire of Robert Saleh, who should improve their defense and as long as they’re respectable, Fields should be able to win games. He can do it with his arm and legs and is a natural leader. This is the exact player who can turn this struggling franchise around.
