2021 NFL Mock Draft: Dolphins take Sewell and Waddle, Bills keep building with Jaelan Phillips

Another team changing coaches is the Detroit Lions — a trend in the top-10 this season. They admitted they erred in hiring Matt Patricia, which seemed to be a couple of years too late. Patricia showed he wasn’t right for the job when he was unable to show up on time and spent his media sessions lecturing reporters on posture. But then his replacement, Dan Campbell, started talking about biting kneecaps which is just weird.
As for their product on the field, they have some pieces but need to make a few improvements. Here, they add Ja’Marr Chase as a legit No. 1 wideout who can help whoever ends up starting for them under center following the potential Matt Stafford trade. Hopefully he also has a strong bite.
Up next in this mock is the Carolina Panthers who started out strong in 2020 before faded out in the end. They wound up with a record of 5-11 but they showed they had some of the pieces to compete. Looking forward, they likely need a new quarterback and should look for more help at wide receiver.
Having said that, there’s also a chance they could look to re-stock their defense and continue to try and win low-scoring games with Christian McCaffrey and Teddy Bridgewater leading them with a smart and efficient offense. With that being the case, they take Michigan defensive end Kwity Paye here.
Paye is a player who can get into the offensive backfield with ease, which would make life easier for the rest of the Carolina defense.
