Pick Analysis. WR. Devonta Smith. player. Scouting Report. Alabama. 11. 31

This season ended in a weird way for the New York Giants as they were crying foul when the Philadelphia Eagles threw a game in Week 17. That led to the Washington Football Team winning the NFC East but the 6-10 Giants wanted that title. Yes, a six-win team felt they were robbed of a division title.

In the end, it worked out best for the long-term health of the team. They weren’t winning in the playoffs and now they pick at No. 11 instead of 19. With this pick, they get some much-needed firepower on offense with Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith. He can stretch the field and make the intermediate plays as well, finally giving Daniel Jones a young No. 1 target who defenses have to fear.

Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis. QB. BYU. Zach Wilson. 12. 42

In this 2021 NFL mock draft, Zach Wilson slides a little simply because the need for a quarterback dissipates some after the first few picks. He and Trey Lance aren’t that far off in terms of talent, so it’s more of a guessing game who goes first, and in this one, Lance leapfrog Wilson.

This leads to the San Francisco 49ers taking the BYU product at No. 12 and the last time the Niners had a starter from BYU under center, things went rather well. Wilson is a player who really burst onto the scene this past season and he feels like a great fit in Kyle Shanahan’s offense — which could put them back over the top.
