NFL quarterbacks ranked by Pro Football Hall of Fame chances
Too Early To Tell For Hall Of Fame – Sam Darnold
Life hasn’t been easy so far in Sam Darnold’s career with the New York Jets. Even after three years in the NFL, he hasn’t proven to critics he can be the real deal. Of course, the Jets did a lousy job of giving Darnold the weapons and protection needed to succeed over his first few years. But looking at Darnold’s raw talent, it’s too early to tell if he’s a future Hall of Famer.
Considering the Jets will have yet another new head coach/offensive coordinator that Darnold will have to learn all over again, means he will likely continue regressing. It’s not easy to go through so many regime changes in such a short period of time but Darnold would probably need to be on a new team that has better talent around him to truly see if he can turn his career around.
For now, Darnold still has to prove he can continue being a starter on the Jets, or if he’s not in their future plans and they start over by drafting his replacement. Either way, the jury is still out if Darnold will pan out, especially when it comes to his chances of being Hall of Fame material.
