After four months of madness, our 2020-21 series of NFL picks and score predictions comes down to this — a showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.
After the madness that was the 2020 NFL season, it all comes down to this—a showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV for all of the marbles.
Is anyone really surprised to see these two teams going head-to-head in the Big Game? The Chiefs are alreay defending champions and will continue to be annual contenders with Patrick Mahomes under center. And even with a new team in a new conference, Tom Brady can’t help but make an appearance in the Super Bowl—he will have played in five of the last seven after Feb. 7.
What I really like about this matchup is the battle between the old and the new. Brady is 43, and likely only has a few more quality seasons in him. And yet, here he is, leading the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl since 2003. On the other side, you’ve got Mahomes, who is easily the top young quarterback in the NFL who likely has many more Super Bowl appearances in his future.
So what should we be expecting on Feb. 7? Will the Chiefs manage to repeat as champions, or will Brady prove that he didn’t need Bill Belichick to win a Lombardi Trophy? In less than two weeks, we’ll find out.
For now, let’s take a look at the two contenders, see what they bring to the table, and then I’ll give you my pick and score prediction for Super Bowl LV.
