Cornerback. Deommodore Lenoir. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oregon. 6. 820

While the Broncos selected a cornerback earlier in this mock draft, they’d be wise to grab one later as well. The position is volatile and increasing your chances of finding a quality player from a probability standpoint with more dart throws is key.

In Deommodore Lenoir, Denver would be getting a versatile corner with experience playing both inside and outside at college. He excels in zone and has shown nice playmaking skills. He does need to improve his technique but he’d be valuable depth for the secondary.

Other Players Considered: Tre McKitty, Noah Grey, Dante Stills

7. 901. Pick Analysis. Tariq Thompson. player. Scouting Report. Safety. San Diego State

Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson formed one of the best safety tandems in the league. But the Broncos could lose the former in free agency while the latter is about to turn 33 years old. Because of that, Denver would be wise to add another safety. And since Fangio loves versatility out of his safeties, he should be a fan of Tariq Thompson.

At San Diego State, Tariq mainly played in the slot. He is a quality player in that spot and is more than willing in run defense. Moreover, he also has the skills to defend as a safety on the back end with his ball skills and instincts. That’s a nice piece to add to this defense.

Other Players. Considered: LaBryan Ray, Haskell Garrett, Tony Poljan

Scouting Report. Tony Poljan. 7. player. 888. Pick Analysis. Tight End. Virginia

Denver had five different tight ends take the field for them this past year and they clearly want to rely on the position. But as they’re set to lose a couple this offseason, they could look to a player such as Tony Poljan to fill the void.

A former quarterback at Central Michigan, he switched positions after two seasons there and then concluded his career with one year at Virginia. He was quality in that transition, though. He’s a project, without question, as he’s extremely raw. But he has the potential to become another quality tight end for the Broncos to utilize.

Other Players Considered: LaBryan Ray, Haskell Garrett, Robert Rochel

Scouting Report. Alabama. LaBryan Ray. 829. Pick Analysis. Defensive Tackle. 7. player

Much like tight ends, the Broncos love defensive tackles and have plenty on the roster. However, they are losing several players at this position as well with Shelby Harris, DeMarcus Walker and Sylvester Williams all set to potentially depart.

LaBryan Ray is more than a quality run defender. He uses his hands very well and creates consistent leverage coupled with good eye discipline. He offers very little as a pass-rusher and isn’t a top-notch athlete. But as a run-stuffing interior lineman, he could help Denver add quality depth.

Other Players Considered: Cam Bynum, Shi Smith, Antjuan Simmons
