The Dallas Cowboys could use a left tackle and Orlando Brown, Jr. wants to stay at left tackle. Could the two sides join forces to help one another?

Former Oklahoma standout Orlando Brown Jr. had an interesting ride as he made it into the NFL. The former All-American had an unimpressive workout at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, which caused his stock to plummet.

Eventually, the Baltimore Ravens ended his fall, taking him 83rd overall. And since making it to the NFL, Brown has done nothing but impress. In his three seasons, he’s made two Pro Bowls and while he was solid on the right side, he really stood out in 2020 when he moved to the left to replace Ronnie Stanley after was injured in Week 8.

With Stanley on his way back this season, Brown has hinted that he wants to stay on the left side — which is unlikely to happen in Baltimore since Stanley just received a massive extension ahead of 2020. This has led to speculation that Brown could be traded, and if he is on the market, the Dallas Cowboys would be wise to see what the Ravens would like in return.

Currently, Dallas has Tyron Smith manning the blindside but his future is in question after playing just two games in 2020. This was the fifth season in a row where injuries have limited Smith and there’s a serious concern that he won’t be healthy going forward.

If Dallas did cut ties with Smith, it would be difficult to see since he’s been a fan favorite since the Cowboys took him at No. 9 overall in the stacked 2011 NFL Draft. He was an instant starter and was the catalyst for Dallas turning their offensive line into one of the best in the league.

While they no longer strike fear into opposing defensive lines, the Cowboys could start to rebuild that unit if they found themselves another franchise left tackle, which is exactly what Brown proved to be last year.
