. OT. Washington Commanders. Samuel Cosmi. 19. player. 58

Washington is clearly in the quarterback market right now as they reportedly offered a nice package to Detroit for Matthew Stafford and have been connected to numerous other players who could possibly be on the market. But again, I’m not sure they’re necessarily desperate to get a quarterback in the draft. Alex Smith and Taylor Heinicke could very well get another look.

In order to help set their quarterbacks up for success, Washington does need to assist the offensive line. That’s why they take Samuel Cosmi with the 19th pick. Coming out of Texas, Cosmi is slightly undersized and needs to add mass but his movement ability and sure technique make him a solid addition. He can start immediately and potentially add the girth to be the Football Team’s long-term left tackle.

20. player. 57. . QB. Chicago Bears. Mac Jones

The Chicago Bears are the team that finally pulls the trigger on picking Alabama quarterback Mac Jones in the first round. After an impressive week at the Senior Bowl where Jones was far and away the best quarterback in Mobile, it seems only more likely that he’s a lock to be a first-round pick. And when you have a team like the Bears, it’s impossible to ignore.

Chicago is perhaps in the worst position in the offseason quarterback market than any of the other teams. With their draft position, they have less trade leverage than others and aren’t particularly sitting well with the salary cap. But Jones could be their answer. He’s not the most imposing figure but his mental acuity, accuracy throwing and ability to run an offense are undeniable.
