Pace has a history of finding gems late in the draft. Joshua Kaindoh could be another one of those gems. Kaindoh was a 5-star recruit coming out of college but didn’t live up to the expectations at Tallahassee. A leg injury in 2019 cut his season short.

Kaindoh did show flashes in 2020. He was instrumental in the Seminoles’ upset victory over North Carolina when he intercepted a pass and took it to the end zone. That victory basically ended the Tar Heels’ College Football Playoffs hopes.

The Chicago Bears drafted Trevis Gipson last year to be an edge rusher. WIth Roy Robertson-Harris looking like he might not return, Chicago may decide to have Gipson bulk up and try his hand as Bilal Nichols’ backup at defensive end. If that is what they decide, then they need some added depth at the edge.

The 6-7, 265-pound Kaindoh has the tools to be a successful player. He has a great wingspan to knock the ball down. Also, he has a great first step to get past the block attempt. The problem is he hasn’t been able to put all his skills together to be able to play consistently.

Perhaps learning under players like Robert Quinn and Khalil Mack helps bring the best out of him. If so, the Bears could have a steal.
