NFL: 27 most likely non-QB future Hall of Famers
One of the most consistently dominant and feared cornerbacks of the past five years, Stephon Gilmore has already authored an impressive candidacy for Canton.
Since being chosen No. 10 overall by the Buffalo Bills back in the 2012 NFL Draft, Gilmore collected the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of The Year award after leading the league in receptions that season and is a two-time First-Team All-Pro.
Named to the New England Patriots’ All-Decade Team, Gilmore was integral to the Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl LIII when he finished second on the team with five tackles and broke up three Jared Goff passes.
Gilmore has been named to three consecutive Pro Bowls and shows no signs of slowing down, after finishing with 37 tackles and one interception in 11 games while battling through various injuries.
In all likelihood, Gilmore has already one enough to become a Hall of Famer, but continuing to string together productive seasons could eventually make him a strong case as a first-ballot selection at a position that has just 18 true cornerbacks enshrined.
