Saquon Barkley has a long way to go, and now faces uncertainty about how dominant he will be upon returning from a torn ACL, but he’s the only player on the NY Giants’ roster with the marriage of Hall of Fame talent, track record, and potential upside with a legitimate chance at enshrinement.

Barkley burst onto the scene as the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year after being chosen No. 2 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, and that award might be enough to propel him into the Hall of Fame one day.

When healthy, Barkley is one of the NFL’s most dangerous dual-threat backs, equally dangerous as a runner as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Along with his 2,344 rushing yards in 31 games, Barkley has also caught 149 passes for 1,219 yards and six more touchdowns.

The Giants continue to fortify the offensive line, and if that unit makes strides next season, Barkley could make a run at Comeback Player of The Year and perhaps even a rushing crown.

However, it — and his Hall of Fame chances — hinge on Barkley returning to his pre-injury form and staying reasonably healthy which is far from certain. If he’s able to stay healthy and productive, he could be on his way to donning a Gold Jacket.
